Pearl Jam of the Week 6/23

Hey guys,

Sorry about missing the Jam of the Week last week, it was pretty hectic. 

Today I am going to talk about my favorite performance of a very popular song. This song is so popular and loved by a lot of casual PJ fans. Personally, I do not like this song and hope I don't hear it when I see them live in concert. 

 

Of course, I am talking about "Betterman". Not that I think it is a bad song, but I have just heard it so much that I am pretty sick of it. Why am I having it be the Pearl Jam of the Week this week? Because it just so happens that this song performed at Lollapalooza 2007 is not only the best version of the song but it is also my favorite PJ live moment I have ever been a part of. 

 

 

Eddie lets the crowd sing the first part of the song. You can't tell by the video, but when the crowd started to sing, it was so loud and clear that I had goosebumps for sure (See if you can hear a high school sophomore from St. Ignatius going insane :) . 

 

What makes it most special to me was this was the concert that started it all. This was concert #1. After seeing #13 a couple weeks ago, I can assure you I will never get tired of seeing Pearl Jam live.
