Who's Hot ?

  • Nolan's Team - has won 3 of last 4 games & only lost that 1 game by half a point. Has showed great consistency in player research - knocking him up to 4th place.
  • Mark's Team - has won 3 of last 5 games and has been continually putting up big numbers. Beat the 2nd place 'Cano can go' last week.
  • The Boowahs - Powering himself up to 3rd place with a league high 29 roster moves! Beat the #1 place Brian's Team last week giving Brian his first loss (and also a great first blog from the first place leader himself).
  • Springfield Isotopes - Went from starting the season off at 11th place and has buckled down to win 5 games, bumping the team to 7th place. Anyone else notice the correlation between the Papelbon Award league leader 'Springfield Isotopes' jumping them up 4 spots in the rankings?
  • Shane Falcos - Grinding out a huge 2nd two weeks ago, Shane Falcos suffered a tough loss last week - losing to 'Springfield Isotopes' by 2 points. Tough loss, but this team is on the rise and the manager knows he has a lot of winning to do. We'll call this the opposite side of the June Swoon, where all the loser teams in the league win like the Twins
  • Cano can go - Just the 2nd loss of the season last week to Mark's Team after winning 7 matchups in a row. Steady 2nd place, just 1 loss behind the 1st place leader.
  • Brian's Team - Winner of a league high (and also his first) 10 games, suffered first loss of the season last week to a rising 'The Boowahs' team. Maintains a league high in points with 5,375.15. The next closest opponent has 4,906.02 points - Utter Domination.

Who's Not ?

  • The Kekambas bitch - Started and maintained his position at 3rd behind a top 2 dominant force. Has since slipped to 5 and although holds a positive record, is trending towards the .500 winning percentage.
  • Marty Weeds - Unfortunately this was my pick to click at the beginning of the season to make a run and win the title. I think this manager is looking towards the future in how he himself will be of high value in the Majors (Congrats on the next step in your career Jack!) as a fantasy player, and not giving his fantasy team the true love it deserves.
  • Tom's Team - Started in the top 6 of the power rankings and is now trending towards the bottom half.  2-2 in the division, however, only behind Brian & Mark's Team.
  • Let Drake Stay!!!! - Too much head-banging, rocking out to Pearl Jam, not enough devotion to the week-by-week lineup. We get it - you're getting married, your fantasy team is sending an S.O.S.
  • #CSATT - I am not entirely sure Sean knows we are in a fantasy baseball league. I picture him coming home one-drunken-night with a bag of snappy dog stix in hand and reporting live to our fantasy draft, only to remember nothing the next day. Ultimately forgetting he is apart of this league. In fact, this may be the first time in history where we see a player show up to draft night, only to forget everything that took place - even drafting Jorge Soler

 Game of the Week

I was originally going to make the game of the week 'The Boowahs' beating the first place ranked 'Brian's Team', but Brian already did a write up on that. This week's Game of the Week is 'Springfield Isotopes' vs. 'Shane Falcos'.
Just when we all thought 'Shane Falcos' was going to make that next step in the season and win 2 games in a row, we get a heartbreaking loss to Springfield Isotopes, compliments of Trayce Thompson.
Thompson posted a batting average of .000 last week! Not one hit! His week point total wound up being -8.00 points. Got to be crushing for this manager as he is on the right track.  He would have been better off not playing anybody and taken their 0 for the week, like Joe does with 'The Kekambas bitch'. Bonus: Jeff Simardjuh only got him 1 point this week - serves you right for drafting that jerk.

This is the really tough part for Shane Falcos - they possessed the AL player of the Week in this loss.

AL Player of the Week

Carlos Correa - Manager: Tim | Team: Shane Falcos

Correa scored 6 runs, 4 doubles, 3 home runs, & 9 RBI's to go along with 21 total bases in last week's matchup vs. Springfield Isotopes. This has got to be the deafening blow to this team's demise as they simply cannot get it together.

 NL Player of the Week

Charlie Blackmon - Manager: Mark | Team: Mark's

To no surprise, it's gonna take your NL Player of the Week to put up 90 points against 'Cano can go' in order to win. Blackmon scored 9 runs, 8 singles, 5 home runs, to go along with 9 RBI's. Talk about a huge week - also contributing heavily to beat the 2nd place ranked team.
